Lithuanian National Culture Centre produces around 20 publications of diverse form, purpose and content annually – books, magazines, sound and video recordings. A lot of them are repertoire for amateur art group leaders to use in their daily work or in preparation for major events such as Song Celebrations. Another part of publications is intended to experts in culture and art, specialists of education and science and the general society. MAGAZINE “BŪDAS”This scientific and cultural magazine specialises in ethnology. It has been published since 1988. The magazine was called "Liaudies kultūra" (Folk Culture) until 2019. It comes out 6 times a year, every two months (11 printer’s sheets, 88 pages, A4, illustrated). The magazine presents research on Lithuanian archaeology, mythology, folklore, ethnography, folk music and dance, folk art and other spheres of ethnic culture, analyses the status and problems of contemporary Lithuanian national and ethnic culture, its regional expressions, cultural features of national minorities, the cultural movements of the 60s-80s related to ethnic culture, introduces the cultures of the Baltic region and the nations of the world, publicises sources of ethnological material and works of famous researchers of the cultures of the world. The resumes of the articles are presented in English. The magazine is also published on the international EBSCO Publishing database (www.ebsco.com).
“GYVOJI TRADICIJA” (THE LIVING TRADITION) SERIESIt is an authentic series consisting of books, sound, video and electronic publications. Its main purpose is to introduce the most important, both still living and extinct national traditions described in the earliest sources. The series is constantly complemented with new pieces. LITHUANIAN CHORAL MUSIC ANTHOLOGYThis fundamental publishing project was started with the aim to publicise the most valuable, commonly-performed compositions of Lithuanian authors for choirs of mixed and equal voices, both a cappella and with instrumental accompaniment, reflecting the evolution of choral music in Lithuania.
