WIDOWER (THIEF)

The number of pairs is not limited and one man dances without a partner - he is a widower.

The sequence of the dance

A pair joins arms and stands in a circle pair behind a pair. The “widower” is in the middle (1 figure).

1. In a circle

(8 bars)

 

The dancers go in a circle right, stepping a simple step every crotchet (1 figure). The “widower” goes in an opposite direction.

2. “Weaving a willow”

(n bars).

The musician is playing as long as he wants. The dancers are “weaving a willow” , giving each other now right, now left hands. The “widower” joins the dance together with other men. When the music stops, everyone stops. The man, who is left without a partner, becomes a “widower”.

Further the dance is repeated from the beginning.
